Safety Glass Willow Mosaic

February 7, 2012

Didn’t know if this would work, but it’s rather attractive, and since shattered safety glass comes from skips, it’s a good find. It’s very thick though so I had to fill up the space under the mirror glass in order for the surface to be smooth. Good experiment though, I’ll do this again.

Sliver Leaves

November 27, 2011

A trivet present for my good friend, a keen cook, for her kitchen which has a kinda snazzy pink and silver wallpaper. This mosaic is 10″ x 10″, bound in lead strip and made from small pink tiles and broken mirror. Here’s what’s so great about mirror, it looks different every time you look at it.

Rocket Shed

September 13, 2011

Rocket Shed was the name of my comedy club, awww… those were the days [nostalgic sigh]. Anyway, where was I, yes, this mosaic was made using a little mirror for the rocket and the stars, and both glass and ceramic tiles. If you know a man or a woman who makes rockets in their shed (literally or metaphorically) then I could happily make this again. And they could check their face for grease before coming back into the house. It’s 19.5 inches square edge to edge. Here it is in the sunshine.
