I went on the new animation course at the City Lit from September last year (2012) and it was great. We got a taste of every package and every sort of way of animating, including cut outs and pencil drawing.
My friend Bob suggested that I make an advert for his business as my end of term project – brilliant idea as it’s so much more fun to have somewhere to start from. See what you think!

It’s great to be able to create a whole little world, hope I get to make more…
This is a little mosaic about 3″ x 3″ for a frame, like Green Water. However I have someone in mind for this, so not for sale. Fiddly, but worth it.

Update: the purple colourway has been sold – only the turquoise colourway is now for sale.
Continuing with my experiment to make nice trivets that I can make more quickly than the more bespoke ones, these are £30 each (plus P&P) and you’re welcome to one or both of them. They are 6″ x 6″, and the blue and red one is really that bright, it’s not the photo!

This was a 6″ x 6″ experiment, all these shapes are offcuts from another mosaic – you can have £5 off it if you can spot which one! The glass was a bit wavy (i.e. not perfectly flat) so the grout has made a frilly pattern round the edge of some of the pieces. I thought it looked a lot like a fur tree forest? If you like it it’s £25 plus P&P, please get in touch.

This is a small 6″ x 6″ trivet, but it looks bigger, something to do with the random size of the tiles I guess. This one is £35, I’d be happy to make you one in completely different colours of course. Please get in touch if you’d like this one, I’ll add P&P to the price.
SOLD
My first experiment into a framed small but detailed mosaic. Nice frame eh? Thanks Professor Ikea, nice one. The red fish are in glistening green glass water, the square is lined with thin silver foil before applying the glass. I see this one gracing a leafy conservatory somewhere. But I will not complain if you’d like to have it in your bathroom. It’s all good. Now SOLD.
This was sold at a fair, it’s trickier than it looks to get the thin stripes cut, then stuck in a way that doesn’t allow grout to leak under the glass – my top tip would be look at your thin stripe in profile and see if the glass is wavy, if it is, apply at least twice as much glue, or break the stripe where it bends to get two flat bits, much better. I will make more of these, nice for left over bits of glass.

6″ x 6″, it’s kind of arresting, this pattern, but it could be hand cut glass squares of multi colours, not just two, I will experiment next time I’m making something multi-coloured. I guess I could actually make a chess board if anyone’s interested. This trivet is £35, please get in touch if you’d like it.
This trivet/wall piece contains two unusual things, I’ve used big pieces of glass that is beautifully swirly in it’s own right – I couldn’t break that up too much, so I allowed it to suggest the form of tulip leaves – click on the image to enlarge it if you want to see detail of that. It’s also got pieces of that pinky lilac colour, which costs a fortune BTW, and is a new colour for me to play with. There’s a lot of iridescence not picked up by the flat on view so another image below shows this more clearly. This piece is 8″ x 8″ , please do get in touch if you’d like me to make you something flowery.
